The John Metianu Scholarship for Nurses & Medical Assistants

On June 12, 2026, our community lost John Francis Metianu, age 22, of Glide, Oregon, in a car accident. His sudden passing left his family and everyone who knew him heartbroken — but the warmth, care, and generosity he brought to the people around him continue to inspire those who loved him.

In his honor, we are proud to establish the John Metianu Scholarship, created to support medical assistants and nurses as they work toward their educational and career goals — carrying forward the same spirit of caring for others that John embodied.
